The orchid is the most coveted of ornamental plants, with the delicate, exotic, and graceful orchid representing love, luxury, beauty, and strength.  In ancient Greece, orchids represented virility.  Greek women believed that if the father of the unborn child ate large, new orchid tubers, the baby would be a boy.  If the mother ate small orchid tubers, the baby would be a girl.  In the Victorian era, the orchid came to symbolize luxury, and today orchids are believed to symbolize rare and delicate beauty.  Our orchid pin is hand cast is solid, lead-free pewter and then dipped in 22K gold.  Jim's attention to detail can be seen in this piece, with the orchid pin making a beautiful addition to any lapel, jacket, hat, or name badge.
